The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations and Safety you will be responsible for the permit application process of Road Occupancy, Excess Load Moving, Partial and Full Road Closure and Film and Special Event Permits.
What you will do in this role:
Reviewing and recommending approval for various Regional roads permit applications to ensure that all Regional infrastructure within the Regional road right-of-way is protected and that traffic safety and capacity are maintained- Reviewing and processing detailed engineering submissions for all development applications as it relates to property requirements, storm water drainage and proposed construction of accesses and road improvements within the Regional road right-of-way
- Reviewing and processing road occupancy permits applications for proposed works within the regional road right-of-way
- Reviewing and processing excess load moving permit applications
- Reviewing and processing Special Event and Film permit applications
- Coordinating, tracking and responding to all encroachment and surplus land circulations on the Regional Road right-of-way or infrastructure.
- Reviewing, recommending approval and co-coordinating regional road closures (full and partial closures) for all special events and construction on regional roads
- Assisting with the preparation of the operation budget
- Analyzing all user fees and making recommendations on the same
- Utilizing Hansen software to monitor road occupancy permits and excess load moving permits
- Liaising with internal and external contacts as required
What the role requires:
Successful completion of a degree or diploma in Transportation/Civil Engineering Technology- Minimum 3 to 5 years relevant and progressive experience related to the management of a Regional road system
- Demonstrated skills in project management and traffic development.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the HTA and other relevant legislation, Planning Act, ITE, OPSD, TAC, OTM, HCM, and other related design and engineering standards and manuals.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Environmental Assessment process.
- Extensive knowledge of design standards, related codes, regulations, tendering/contract process and contract administration
- Detailed knowledge of computerized traffic engineering applications and methodologies
- Valid G driver’s license (in good standing) and access to own transportation.

- Strong public relations background
- Superior organizational and problem solving skills
